August proved to be a great month that just didn’t last long enough. What made it great was being able to spend three weeks with my beautiful girlfriend, Lucie. It all started on her birthday. Rather than stay at home celebrating with her family and friends, she travelled 13,000 kilometres to Thailand!

Visiting Thailand for this length of time requires a visa. For me, I have a multiple entry visa, which means that I must leave the country to get my passport stamped. This in effect renews my visa for another two months. I was due to renew my visa the first weekend in August. As Myanmar is about 15 minutes from my place it was the easiest place to go.
At the end of July, we had our first official holiday weekend as it was the King’s Birthday. We chose to take a mini-vacation to Krabi in the south of Thailand.
Since I’m on my 4th week in Thailand, I had time to get acclimated to my new environment. I, somehow, know my way around the neighborhood now and developed a daily routine that fits my job requirements. Since the last time I went on a bigger adventure was when I first got to Mae Sot, my friend Poppy and I decided to plan a little excursion to Chiang Mai for the weekend.
Since you already know all about how I got to Thailand and my first week here, it is now time to go over my daily routine since I somewhat acclimated to my new adoptive country. It is fair to say that my life here is a lot different from what I’m used to back home. Keep in mind that I do all this rain or shine.
